Celebrating a Legacy of Service: Honoring Victor Camacho’s Retirement at AlmaVia of Camarillo

After more than two decades of dedicated service, AlmaVia of Camarillo is celebrating the retirement of Victor Camacho, a beloved team member who has been part of the community since its beginning. When AlmaVia first opened its doors in 2003, Victor joined the team and helped lay the foundation for the warm, welcoming community residents enjoy today.

Victor’s journey began simply. There was an opening at the new community, and someone encouraged him to apply. What started as a job opportunity became a career spanning more than 20 years. Throughout those years, it was the company, the people and the positive work environment that kept him coming back day after day.

“The company and the work environment have always been great,” Victor said.”That’s what kept me here for so many years.”

As a member of the culinary team, Victor found great joy in preparing meals for residents. He especially enjoyed hearing how much residents appreciated his cooking and looked forward to meals shared with friends and neighbors throughout the community.

“I like cooking many different foods, but beef stew was my favorite because the residents loved it,” Victor said.

While he prepared countless meals throughout his career, beef stew became a resident favorite. Knowing that residents enjoyed what he created made his work especially rewarding and helped make every day meaningful.

Over the years, Victor became a familiar and trusted presence at AlmaVia. His commitment to excellence was recognized with one of the community’s most meaningful honors, the Heart of Gold Award, reflecting the care, dedication and compassion he brought to his role every day.

“Winning the Heart of Gold Award was a special moment for me,” Victor said.

While retirement marks the end of an impressive career, it also signals the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Victor looks forward to traveling and spending more time with his family, creating new memories with the people who matter most to him.

“I’m looking forward to traveling and spending more time with my family,” Victor said.

As AlmaVia celebrates Victor’s retirement, it also celebrates the lasting impact he has made on residents, families and fellow team members. For more than two decades, he helped nourish not only those who gathered around his meals, but also the spirit of the community through his kindness, consistency and dedication.
