Devoted Team Members Help Make our Community Special

We’d like to introduce you to four more of our Employees of the Week who help make AlmaVia of Camarillo so special.

Cook Oscar Garcia knows that for senior living residents, food plays a major role in quality of life. In some ways, it’s like visiting the same restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Oscar uses his passion for delicious cuisine to create dishes that residents love for each and every meal. He loves the friendly, caring nature of our residents, and his positive attitude shines. When he’s not working, he loves spending time with family, hiking and seeing movies.

When you enter our community, the first face you’re likely to see is receptionist Melissa Camarillo. In four years with our community, Melissa has gotten to know every resident and their family members, and she loves our family atmosphere. Melissa always remains positive no matter how hectic life gets at the front desk, and she treats everyone she meets with patience and respect. She’s always ready to lend a hand to make sure all our administrative tasks run smoothly. When she’s not working, Melissa enjoys hiking local trails with her husband.

Gaylyn Hayden is a Memory Care med-tech and care assistant who has been with the community for more than seven years. Her gentle, caring nature makes her a favorite among staff and residents alike, and she says working at AlmaVia of Camarillo is like spending time with family. Gaylyn loves interacting with residents and even sharing a dance with them. Outside work, she spends time traveling and seeing movies, and she hopes to visit all 50 states.

Assisted Living Care assistant Elena Rodriguez has been with AlmaVia of Camarillo for almost five years, and she goes above and beyond in ways that are obvious to residents and colleagues. She takes great pride in her work and has a seemingly endless supply of energy for helping anyone in need. When she’s not working, Elena loves cooking, knitting and watching romance and mystery movies. Those who know Elena are blessed by her cooking skills, and residents recently enjoyed working with her to make 80 chile rellenos for Easter.

On behalf of the residents and staff of AlmaVia of Camarillo, we extend our gratitude to these dedicated team members. Thank you!
