When you enter the lobby of AlmaVia of Camarillo, you can expect to be greeted by a smiling face. Melissa Camarillo is our community’s head receptionist, and visitors have the opportunity to speak with her Monday through Friday if they come into the lobby or call.
Melissa is much more than a greeter. She also serves as a one-person communication hub, project manager, sympathetic ear — and prolific multi-tasker. AlmaVia of Camarillo has recognized Melissa’s hard work and friendly manner by naming her Employee of the Month for August.
While she enjoys many aspects of her work, Melissa says she loves the fast pace of her job and the fact that each day is different and often full of surprise. In addition to having a personal relationship with the residents, Melissa also has a chance to get to know their family members so she can better meet residents’ needs. No matter how busy she is, Melissa is always gracious and efficient, and she treats everyone with dignity and respect.
In her time away from work, Melissa stays busy with her husband, Jesse — also a staff member at AVC — by attending country music concerts, going on hikes and visiting with family members.
