COVID-19 Update – 4.14.2020

Hello Family and Friends of Elder Care Alliance,

We wanted to provide you with information about what we, as an organization, have been doing to help our communities combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

We can report today that no residents in any of our Assisted Living, Memory Care or Skilled Nursing communities have shown any signs or symptoms of the virus. We have been extremely fortunate as, although we have been impacted by the virus in a few instances with our staff, they are safe and recovering. Those affected have been communicative, cooperative and selfless in dealing with their diagnosis which has helped us prevent the virus from spreading to other staff or residents.

From the outset of this pandemic the corporate staff at Elder Care Alliance has been working to ensure our community teams have up-to-date information, the proper protocols, and the necessary equipment and supplies to care for the residents in a safe manner. Acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE) is not easy in this environment. Much like a trip to the rocery store, we are finding needed equipment in short supply with ever-shifting sources. With that said, we have ordered or already secured enough PPE to ensure everyone has what they need to safely care for our residents.

Testing is an important tool in battling this virus, and it is extremely difficult to obtain. We are happy to announce that after a lengthy process of researching and vetting many vendors, we have ordered COVID-19 test kits for every resident and team member within the ECA Family. We will have more information as we get closer to delivery and testing dates are confirmed. The tests will be optional and conducted by outside healthcare professionals at each community. We view the ability to offer the test to our residents and staff as a way to truly lessen the anxiety this virus has caused. It is our sincere hope that we can give many much needed peace of mind. Our vigilance will remain, however as the test is only a snapshot in time as to who may have the virus. Our protocols and isolations will remain in effect until instructed otherwise by local and state agencies.

We also want to close by saying “Thank you” to the staff at each community. We are truly blessed to have such dedicated, humble and hardworking people as part of our company. They are Heroes!

Thank you for your continued support, and please stay tuned for more information in the oming days.

Sincerely,

The Elder Care Alliance Team
