AlmaVia of San Rafael has been selected as a recipient of the Senior Advisor “Best of Assisted Living” 2018 awards. The honor was announced Dec. 13 in Austin, Texas, by SeniorAdvisor.com, the largest rating site in the country for senior living communities and services.
Only about 1,600 senior living providers — including memory care, in-home care and assisted living — in the United States and Canada qualified for the 2018 honor. To earn the designation, senior care providers must consistently receive positive feedback from residents, their friends and family members on the SeniorAdvisor.com website, now in its fifth year.
“This distinction exemplifies our commitment to provide the best care. With the support of dedicated health professionals, we provide the guaranteed results for our residents for them to live their best lives,” said Wendy Cornejo, executive director.
The communities that won the 2018 honor were among North America’s top 1 percent of senior care providers. Texas, California and Florida represented the states with the most award recipients for this year.
SeniorAdvisor.com General Manager Ben Opps noted in a statement that the communities recognized had earned a stamp of approval from residents and their families, the most qualified group to provide ratings. He added that SeniorAdvisor.com raised its standards for 2018, making the honor harder to win.
To qualify for the award, organizations have to maintain an average rating of at least 4.5 stars, and they must have received four or more reviews during 2017. Winners were required to offer at least one of several types of care: in-home care, skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living, Alzheimer’s care or low-income senior housing.
