Spring brings with it a sense of renewal and new beginnings. The blooms are returning to flowers, trees are getting their leaves back, and for us at Elder Care Alliance, as we step into this time of renewal, we are moving closer to “normal” from what the past year has been throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our COVID-19 Response Over the Last Year
We’re incredibly proud of our COVID-19 response through the past year. We took quick, bold action and consistently exceeded requirements while being over-prepared. The well-being of our team members and residents has been and will continue to be our key focus. Elder Care Alliance has been able to vaccinate more than 95% of residents and 80% of staff with an ongoing vaccination program currently in progress. We have at least a 60-day inventory of all personal protective equipment to back up our community’s regular supply of all high-quality PPE. Our comprehensive infection control and testing program are reviewed bi-weekly.
While following best practices for cleaning, ECA has exceeded standards to independently review the airflow in each of our buildings. We believe holistic wellness means maintaining high standards for healthy buildings. This is all part of our service to create a healthy home for each resident.
New Changes in our Communities
In accordance with local and regulatory guidelines, restrictions have eased at our communities. With these changes, we’ve been able to allow a limited number of visitors back into our communities. Seeing so many of our residents reconnect with their loved ones face-to-face has been touching. For some, it has been a year since they’ve been with their families in person. Small group life enrichment activities have also returned at our Elder Care Alliance communities, allowing greater socialization and a renewed sense of purpose. We are still following all CDC guidelines, which include mask-wearing, hand hygiene, and physical distancing.
Here at Elder Care Alliance, we continue to be amazed by our team members’ incredible work throughout this year. Their passion and positive attitude are on display every day, living out our core values of dignity and caring.
