Baked, stuffed or twirled? Meatless and cheesy or hearty and spicy? Whatever your preference, you can get your fill of starchy goodness while helping those with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Residents and their families, as well as area professionals, are invited to attend AlmaVia of San Francisco’s Annual Pasta Feed and Silent Auction from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 26. Culinary Director and Executive Chef Eduardo Chavez will prepare homemade pasta with four types of sauces, plus salads, dessert and wine. Attendees also will have a chance to bid on silent auction items generously donated by area merchants and organizations.
“This is always a fun and delicious evening for our residents and the community. Last year’s event raised more than $11,000 and we will have some great items for attendees to bid on again,” said Karen Johnson, sales and marketing director. “In past years, we’ve auctioned restaurant gift certificates, Giants tickets, cultural event tickets, gift cards, gift baskets and hand-crafted items.”
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association and support AlmaVia of San Francisco’s memory care activities, technology purchases and patio and garden improvements.
Tickets are $20; $25 at the door. Admission is free for residents and children under 12. To RSVP, call 415-337-1339 or email karejohnson@eldercarealliance.org.
