Elder Care Alliance
Elder Care Alliance leaders are knowledgeable about the senior living industry and passionate about the older adults we serve – but it doesn’t end there.
Our leaders have a commitment to learning, constantly growing and pushing themselves to find new and better ways to deliver services that nurture the body, mind and spirit of each resident. This commitment extends to our team members, fostering an environment of professional development. Aside from a broad range of training opportunities, Elder Care Alliance’s Cohort program engages new and existing managers in a yearlong program to fortify their leadership and critical thinking skills. In addition, all leaders develop their own professional development plan on an annual basis.
Adriene Iverson President & CEO
At Elder Care Alliance, there is an established culture of learning and innovation. As President & CEO, Adriene Iverson is continually asking herself questions like, “How might we do this better?” and “What can we learn from this?” Iverson has been part of the Elder Care Alliance team since 2010, initially as VP of Operations, where she oversaw all of Elder Care Alliance’s operational functions as well as the infrastructure for internal communications. In 2011, she led a comprehensive software conversion and implementation of electronic health records across all of Elder Care Alliance’s communities. She was also instrumental in ushering in Dr. John Zeisel’s internationally recognized dementia care program I’m Still Here™ in Elder Care Alliance’s memory care neighborhoods. She led Elder Care Alliance’s strategic planning.
Iverson has extensive experience guiding the operations of not-for-profit organizations. Prior to joining Elder Care Alliance, she served for 15 years as Vice President of Operations at the CNH District Church Extension Fund, a $60 million church loan fund. Her responsibilities ranged from oversight of finance to marketing, underwriting, loan placement, and construction draw management. For more than a decade she served as chair of the board for a startup Continuing Care Retirement Community, providing her with valuable, firsthand knowledge of the senior living industry. Iverson holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Santa Clara University.
Overall, Iverson is passionate about ensuring that at Elder Care Alliance we are always learning, always improving and always innovating in order to deliver high-quality, person-centered care.
Cheryl MacGregor Vice President of Human Resources
Since taking leadership of the human resources department as Director in 2008, Cheryl MacGregor supports Elder Care Alliance’s more than 525 employees with the policies and procedures that enable them to successfully perform their work each day. She ensures that employees’ values are aligned with those of our organization by clearly defining those values and reinforcing them through orientation and ongoing training. MacGregor knows that a potential employee might have all the skills needed to provide the personal care that a senior needs—but does she know how to provide personal care while maintaining seniors' respect and dignity? The answer to that question is the “why." Under her HR guidance, all new frontline employees are engaged in a cultural on-boarding process, so they truly understand the core of Elder Care Alliance and the hospitality aspect of their work. Beyond training, the HR polices reinforce Elder Care Alliance’s core values, including continuous learning and cultivating leaders with a calling, throughout an employee’s career.
Prior to joining Elder Care Alliance, MacGregor worked in the financial services industry for nearly 30 years. She was an operations officer with what is now MetLife Investors and also Senior Vice President of Administration for Security First Group Inc. Eager to apply her valuable skills and education to a mission-based organization, MacGregor began her career at Elder Care Alliance as a Benefits and Compensation Specialist in 2002. MacGregor holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in human resources management from California State University, Hayward, and a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from University of California, Los Angeles. She is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute with a NASD Series 6 certification.
