Resident Stories
– Sr. Merlyn Martin, Sr. Maureen Hester, & Care Staff, Mercy Retirement & Care Center
My mother is a resident of AlmaVia of Camarillo and the staff are wonderful and treat her special. My mom loves her home there and we feel secure knowing she’s safe and well taken care of. The staff is friendly, caring and sincere.

My parents lived at The Villa. It’s a great place, movies and popcorn twice a week, bingo once a week with one week having pizza, stretch classes and various activities that coincide with holidays and themes depending on the month. The residents are like a small community who care for and support each other. My mom made quite a few nice friends there. The staff Stephanie, Kristin, Mark and Manny are warm and caring. As a daughter, I enjoyed visiting my parents there and seeing they were in such a welcoming place.

We moved both my parents to AlmaVia in November of 2014. Mom to memory care. Dad to assisted living. It’s was the best decision we could have made for them. I toured all the facilities in the area at the time and AlmaVia was the best choice for them. They made new friends and discovered old friends were even living there. There is always an event to attend. Mom’s favorite activity was the music. Tuesday with Bill was her favorite day. It’s a community. I go see Dad at least 3 times a week but I see more than just Dad. I have made many friends there and enjoy stopping to chat with everyone. The staff is friendly and courteous always willing to help. They participate yearly, raising funds for Alzheimer’s. I have no worries. I know Dad is in good hands.

This is the best assistive living and memory care in Ventura County. They took such loving care of my mom for almost 10 years. Thank you AlmaVia!

We moved both my parents to AlmaVia in November of 2014. Mom to memory Mercy Retirement & Care Center is nice, bright, light, and airy. The rooms are nice, and they have regular religious services. They have a nice cafeteria where they have large gatherings. Every month, they have a special event with entertainment. The food was very good. It was a Cinco de Mayo celebration when I was there, and they had delicious Mexican food. The staff was very good.
