Each Elder Care Alliance community offers specialized care for residents with dementia, cognitive impairment or Alzheimer’s. Our memory care services are rooted in our belief that every person has the ability to grow and learn.
In a comfortable, residential setting, our caring staff combines specialized training—based on the latest research—with programming techniques designed for those with cognitive impairment. The team in each community’s memory care neighborhood includes a Memory Care Director, Life Enrichment Coordinator, spiritual care services and support staff.
Memory Care Services
Our memory care programs are founded on an engagement-focused philosophy and a belief that every person has an innate capability to learn and succeed, no matter the depth of their cognitive challenges.
Residents receive specialized memory care along with all of the typical assisted living services in a safe and supportive environment. Our three tiers of programming are designed to meet the needs of residents as they progress through the stages of the disease. At the top of our priority list is helping each resident feel safe and comfortable while continuing to be as mentally stimulated and engaged in daily life as possible.
A Supportive Environment
We stand apart from other communities because of our focus on dignity, respect, independence and choice. These qualities are embedded in every aspect of resident care, experience and interaction. Our communities provide supportive environments and bright, open common rooms with comfortable places to sit and visit.
Residents are encouraged to stay active and engaged by attending art therapy classes, movies and community events like a Super Bowl soup social. We also encourage residents to participate in group walks and scenic drives with trained staff. Not everyone will be interested in the same activities so we offer a variety of activities that embrace a wide range of interests.
Through these opportunities for engagement and connection, residents gain a sense of purpose. This can make a real difference as increased engagement has been shown to improve functioning and result in a higher quality of life.
I’m Still Here™ Memory Care Program
All Elder Care Alliance communities use the I’m Still Here approach to memory care, which is based on the belief that every person has an innate ability to learn and succeed, despite the stage of her memory loss. By adapting environments, using specialized communication and learning techniques, and offering cultural programs, the approach enables people living with dementia to remain creative throughout their lives. As a result, many residents in memory care programs at Elder Care Alliance communities demonstrate improvements in social engagement, health, activity and joy.
