Cheers! Culinary Director Eduardo Chavez Joins the AVSF Family

With more than a decade of experience in restaurant, large-scale catering and five-star cuisine, Eduardo Chavez is a chef of all trades, and we’re thrilled to welcome him as our new Culinary Director and Executive Chef.

Chef Chavez leads the 15-person culinary team at AlmaVia of San Francisco, serving daily meals to more than 125 residents and guests. He also creates and prepares menus for a variety of social events hosted regularly at our community.

“I am excited for this new opportunity,” Chavez said. “My goal is to keep our menu interesting and provide a wide variety of options. I value using fresh, local ingredients to recreate some of the residents’ favorite meals and offer new experiences with traditional cuisine from various cultures.”

Prior to arriving at AVSF, Chavez served as the executive chef at Mira Vista Golf & Country Club, providing five-star quality dining by using the leading professional techniques.

“Chef Chavez is ready to usher in a new era of fine dining at AlmaVia of San Francisco,” said Executive Director Pamela Hamilton. “He is dedicated to listening to residents to create an amazing dining experience. Our community strives to offer fresh, nutritious, delicious dining options, which Chef Chavez can now showcase in a newly renovated dining room.”

Chef Chavez also worked as banquet chef and senior sous chef at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. There, he oversaw 400 culinary team members and served more than 65,000 fans at each game.

When not in the kitchen, Chef Chavez enjoys spending time with his wife, Cecilia, and two sons, Mateo and Marcos, and finding opportunities to volunteer with organizations dedicated to helping children with special needs.

Welcome to the family, Chef Chavez!
